- Chaplain, OGCA
My name is Ramón Zerón. I was born in Jinotepe, Nicaragua on November 21, 1951. My wife, Soccorro, and I have been married for 43 years. We have 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. I earned my teaching certificate in 1973, at which time I began my career as an educator on the elementary level. While continuing to teach, I completed a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a master’s degree in the Spanish language. In 1986, I began teaching Spanish as a second language to foreign exchange students from various United States universities. I also worked in the Peace Corps as a Spanish professor. I accepted Christ several years ago, but never grew in the Lord until I began attending Iglesia Bautista Gracia de Dios. It was there that, after graduating from the Instituto Bíblico de la Gracia with a degree in Theology, God called me into ministry. After first becoming associate pastor of the church, I later became senior pastor from 2010 until the present. Through my experiences as an educator and working with people from all over the world as well as increasing understanding of His Word, God has prepared me to receive love and patience from Him which is invaluable for the work in His ministry.
