Samanta Golcher trains volunteers from ‘La Roca’ church for their upcoming Vacation Bible School

Thank you for your prayers over the last two months as 18ten’s Board of Directors prayerfully considered all potential projects with Comunidad Cristiana La Roca (The Rock Christian Community), a local church in Xela, Guatemala. We are thrilled to announce 18ten’s official partnership with La Roca on their upcoming Vacation Bible School as well as their 2020 Sunday School curriculum. We trust the Lord will use both of these ministries in meaningful ways even beyond our imagination, and hope this marks the beginning of a very long corroboration in the Xela community.

We believe the high-quality curriculums and supplies, all chosen by Pastor Karel Golcher and his wife, Samanta, will greatly enhance the VBS and Sunday School experiences for the children in their community. La Roca has offered VBS for the past 5 years, but due to their limited budget, they usually use curriculum printed from the internet in black and white. This year, as a result of our partnership, as many as 75 children ages 4 – 14 will get to learn about Jesus’ love for them in a fun environment, enjoy lunch at the church, and take home their very own original study materials–all in color!

We see this engagement in La Roca’s ministries as the beginning of what we hope will be a long-term partnership that empowers children’s ministries throughout Guatemala. Lord willing, we expect the graduates from thee Golcher’s Bible Institute, “Shepherding the Nations,” to be excellent candidates to be the future leaders of such ministries. Stay tuned for more information next week on this high-quality Bible Institute, and please join us in praying for La Roca’s upcoming VBS, which is to take place from November 12th – 16th!

Muchas gracias por sus oraciones sobre los últimos dos meses mientras la junta directive de 18ten consideró todos los proyectos potenciales con Comunidad Cristiana La Roca, una iglesia local en Xela, Guatemala. Nos sentimos muy emocionados de anunciar el inicio de nuestra colaboración oficial con La Roca en su Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones tanto como su currículo de 2020 para sus clases dominicales. Confiamos que El Señor vaya a usar estos dos ministerios en maneras significativas aún más allá de nuestra imaginación, y esperamos que esto marque el inicio de una corroboración muy large en la comunidad de Xela.

Creemos que los currículos y materiales, escogidos por Pastor Karel Golcher y su esposa, Samanta, enriquecerán las experiencias profundamente para los niños quienes asisten a la EBV y las clases dominicales. La Roca ha ofrecido EBV a sus niños por los últimos 5 años, pero no han podido ofrecer materiales en color, pero este año, como resulto de nuestra colaboración, aproximadamente 75 niños entre 4 – 14 años recibirán almuerzo en la iglesia y llevar a casa su propio material de estudiar original!

Vemos este compromiso en los ministerios de La Roca como el inicio de lo esperamos será una colaboración a largo plazo que apodera a ministerios para niños por todo Guatemala. Si Dios quiera, esperamos que los graduados del instituto bíblico de la familia Golcher, “Pastoreando a las Naciones,” sean candidatos excelentes para los líderes futuros de tales ministerios.
