We’re thrilled to share the news that FOUR female goats were born recently on campus, which means they definitely get to stay (and one day produce milk)! Dolly (white goat pictured above) is the mama of twins, Martina and Patsy. Dolly is also the best milker out of all the goats on Oasis’ farm. Stapleton (far right) is the proud papa.

Jaron Rogers (pictured above with Stapleton) is the brains behind the goat milk operation. The Lord has blessed his efforts such that there are now 21 goats total–16 females, 2 males, and 3 “meat” (to sell) goats.

On average, the goats are producing 8 liters/day, which should increase once they wean off the babies. Once filtered, the milk is either stored for use in Oasis’ kitchen or sold to individuals in the community. Besides paying Kevin, the full-time goat caretaker/milker, the main expense to maintain the milk production is cost of goat food.

Right now, they are trying to offset food costs by cutting weeds from the neighbors’ property (an orphanage). They cut approximately 3 bales-worth a day. The goats love it and it helps keep the neighbors’ property clean!

Please continue to pray for wisdom for Jaron and his team and that God would continue to bless this endeavor and use it to be a blessing to many.
