Do you remember taking Home Economics? A similar type of class in Nicaragua is called “Aprender, Emprender, y Prosperar” (Learning, Undertaking, and Prospering). Students take this class every year with the goal in mind of strengthening entrepreneurial skills. Profe Claudia (5th Grade) shared a couple of anecdotes that give some insight into the type of projects the students do in this course.
Left: In their artistic culture workshop, the children created and puzzle and put it together. The students enjoyed the process!
Right: Students conducted interviews about entrepreneurial ideas of people who have done well in small businesses. They interviewed one of the ladies at the market, the man who sells snow cones, and a woman who sells ice and boiled beans.
