“Perhaps some say that children do not know anything about life, but in these weeks that I have shared with these children, I realize that we have a lot to learn from them. As Jesus says, ‘I truly tell you that, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’ – Matthew 18:3

A small anecdote that I witnessed was when a child did not bring any snack and did not have a cookie to eat like his classmates. In the meantime, I waited to see the reaction of the children, which was immediate. Without (me) saying a single word to them, they began to respond, sharing what they brought to their classmate. This deeply touched my heart because one of the people who shared their snack was going through serious family conflicts. Even so, watching how she gave up something of her own for the satisfaction of another motivated me to be a better teacher. They taught me that it is always better to give than to receive.”
