18ten’s December 2018 trip to Nicaragua served as a great stepping stone on the path to convert Oasis de la Gracia into an official Christian school!

We were excited to finally meet Cliff Bown and Tyler Green in person, brothers in Christ from Ohio who have also been supporting Oasis and our mutual vision for the future Oasis of Grace Christian School. Specifically, Cliff has been very instrumental in both designing the school and fundraising for capital expenses associated with the construction.

We are very thankful for long-term missionaries Jason and Tammy Rogers, who served as wonderful hosts during our 3-day visit, and will be playing a major role in overseeing the Oasis leadership for the school transition.

Perhaps the most important part of our trip was getting to see the excitement in the faces of the Pedro, Ramon, and the rest of the Oasis staff as they are starting to see their dream of an Oasis de la Gracia school start to become a reality!

Estábamos muy emocionados de por fin conocer a Cliff Bown y a Tyler Green, unos hermanos en Cristo de Ohio quienes también ha estado apoyando a Oasis de la Gracia y a nuestra visión mutua para la futura escuela Oasis de la Gracia. Específicamente, Cliff ha sido muy instrumental tanto en diseñar la escuela y en recaudar fondos para los gastos iniciales asociados con la construcción del edificio.

Estamos muy agradecidos por los misioneros Jason y Tammy Rogers, quienes han servido en Nicaragua por 17 años ya. Ellos sirvieron como excelentes anfitriones durante nuestro tiempo, y van a tomar el rol muy importante de supervisar esta transición de Oasis sobre el próximo año.

¡Tal vez la parte más importante de nuestro viaje fue poder ver la emoción en las caras de Pedro, Ramón, y el resto del personal de Oasis mientras daban cuenta de que su sueño de una escuela empezara a ser una realidad!
